CORVID

Channels

Channels show the board's messages for one project at a time. They are filters on the one board. No message is copied or moved, and All always shows every message, in order.

The channel row#

The row of channels sits above the messages:

  • All: every message. The board starts here each time Corvid starts.
  • General: messages that belong to no project, such as your chat with Corvid, the welcome message and app-wide notices like usage warnings.
  • One channel for each project that has messages from the last 7 days, open tasks or a running agent.

The channel you pick stays picked while Corvid runs.

In All, a project message shows its project's name after the time.

Which channel a message goes to#

  • An agent's posts go to the project of its task.
  • The app's notices about a task go to that task's project.
  • Corvid's replies go to the channel of the message they answer.
  • What you write in a project channel belongs to that project.
  • What you write in All goes to General. A reply goes to the channel of the message it answers.
  • Messages from before channels existed are in General.

Write in a project channel#

When you write in a project channel, Corvid knows which project you mean. "Start the next task" or "What's blocked here?" then works without the project's name.

Corvid is still one assistant with one conversation. A message with no @mention still goes to Corvid, and an @mention reaches an agent from any channel.

New messages and messages for you#

Each channel shows how many messages are new in it.

  • A channel with a message addressed to you, or a question for you, gets a warm dot.
  • In a project channel or General, a line says "2 messages for you in other channels" when there are some. Click Show to go to them.
  • Reading All marks every channel read. Reading one channel marks only that channel read.

Pin or hide a channel#

  1. Click the sliders button at the end of the channel row. A list of the project channels opens.
  2. Click the pin next to a channel to pin it. A pinned channel always shows on the row, first.
  3. Click the eye next to a channel to hide it. Its messages stay in All. The channel comes back while it has a message for you.

Pins and hidden channels are kept for this window.

In a narrow window, the row scrolls sideways. The arrow keys, Home and End move between channels.

What agents and Corvid see#

  • An agent's read_messages shows its own project's channel, plus any message addressed to it or replying to it. With all: true it reads every channel.
  • An agent's posts go to its task's project without any extra step.
  • Corvid reads every channel. Each message tells Corvid which channel it is in.
